Bio

Major Matthew T. Baldwin is the Recruiting Officer and Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 75, San Diego State University, California. He leads, recruits, and evaluates 160 prospective officers through a comprehensive college program. He provides academic instruction on Air Force leadership, doctrine, and communication emphasizing professionalism and physical fitness.

Maj Baldwin entered the Air Force through ROTC at Loyola Marymount University in 2015. While participating in ROTC he attended California Baptist University in Riverside, California and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice. His first duty station was Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, where he served in the Force Support Squadron in multiple roles culminating in Military Personnel Flight Commander. He was then assigned to Aviano Air Base, Italy, where he served as the Section Commander of multiple squadrons as well as the Sustainment Flight Commander in charge of the installation dining, lodging, and fitness facilities. In this role Maj Baldwin led 124 Airmen, civilians, and local nationals and had direct oversight of 10 facilities with a $75M operating budget providing critical support of 225K joint forces, 12 geographically separated units, and 31 permanent party units.


Prior to his current role, he served as the Deputy Division Chief for Military Personnel, Space Training and Readiness Command, Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
