Operations Air and Space Force

Through partnership with the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA), Operations Air Force (Ops AF) is approximately a one-week summer program that exposes cadets to various Air Force missions at CONUS installations. This program focuses and orients cadets on daily operations and active-duty culture through direct exposure and hands-on experience with AF units. Each cadet will have a unique opportunity during Ops AF with differing host wing mission sets and individualized schedules.

Project Global Officer (GO)

Project GO is a nationwide program open to all qualified ROTC students offering fully-funded opportunities in critical language education, overseas study, and cross-cultural experience. Through Project GO, future military officers develop linguistic and cross-cultural communication skills required for effective leadership for all Services in the 21st century operational environment. Since 2007, Project GO has provided approximately 6,500 students with opportunities to study culture and 19 languages, both domestically and abroad in 33 countries around the world.

AFROTC You Can Fly

You Can Fly is a Rated Diversity Improvement program that affords cadets the opportunity to take flight training throughout the school year. Program Intent: (1) Create a robust and innovative Rated Officer applicant pool with diverse backgrounds that can solve tomorrow’s global challenges by providing combat air lethality with agility and resolve. (2) Increase awareness of rated careers with a compelling outreach designed to inform, influence, and inspire AFROTC cadets from underrepresented communities. 

Cadet Language Immersion Program (CLIP) 

CLIP is an annual language program for English as a Second Language (ESL) cadets who have not yet passed the verbal portion of the AFOQT. The program’s goal is to strengthen cadet’s English communication skills to assist with passing AFOQT (verbal) or meet ECL/OPI score requirements. The course is approximately 4 weeks and will take place at either Maxwell AFB, AL or Lackland AFB, TX at the Defense Language Institute English Learning Center (DLIELC).

Air Force Research Laboratory Advanced Course in Engineering

Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) Advanced Course in Engineering (ACE) Cyber Security Bootcamp is an immersive cyber warfighting and leadership summer internship available to undergraduate students, ROTC Cadets, select active duty of similar experience, and select international officers and cadets. The curriculum covers leadership during crisis situations, the science of mission assurance, the art of cyber warfare, and written/verbal communication skills. Interns gain a deep understanding of the impact of their leadership, followership, and problem-solving skills on individual and team success in a contested cyber battlespace.

JROTC Flight Academy

Air Force Junior ROTC (JROTC) is providing an opportunity for 20 AFROTC cadets to gain valuable flight experiences at flight schools around the country. The JROTC Flight Academy opportunity provides enough instruction for students to obtain their Private Pilot Certificate (PPC). This is an intensive 8-week program and cadets are expected to work and study 10- 12 hours daily, including weekends.
