Requirements and Scholarships

Take the First Step with DET075

Interested in joining Air Force ROTC at SDSU or one of our affiliated crosstown colleges? Start by filling out the DET075 Interest Form to let us know you’re ready to learn more. Once submitted, you’ll be invited to attend one of our monthly Zoom Info Sessions, held every second and fourth Tuesday from 4:00–4:45 PM. These sessions are a great opportunity to ask questions and see if the program is the right fit for you.

Basic Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a full time student (12 credits/term or 9 credits/term for Masters) at SDSU or an affiliated crosstown college (40% of our students are from crosstown schools) Please check here if your college affiliated 
  • Have at least three years of college or graduate school remaining starting in a Fall Semester (four years is preferred)
  • Be a US citizen by the time of contracting (between your second and third year in the program)
  • If you have prior military experience, we'll need your DD214 and/or DD368.
  • Be 42 years old or younger at time of college graduation
  • Pass a Physical Fitness Assessment and meet body/weight standards
  • Pass a Department of Defense Medical Review Board (DoDMERB)
  • *CURRENT COLLEGE STUDENTS* Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above if joining in a Spring term or a 2.5 cumulative GPA if joining in a Fall term.

Commitment

Upon graduation and earning your commission as an officer, you will have a 4 year service commitment (some specialized fields have longer service commitments such as pilots-10 years, Combat Systems Officer/Air Battle Manager-6 years).

Scholarships
